Position summary

 

As a Private Equity Associate, you will support sponsors, management teams, portfolio companies, and financial institutions on a wide range of private equity and corporate transactions. You will work closely with partners and fellow associates, taking a leading role in transaction execution while helping to build and strengthen client relationships.

 

The team advises on buyouts, leveraged transactions, buy-and-build strategies, growth capital investments, distressed situations, exits, general M&A, and other strategic corporate matters. Much of the work has an international focus, providing excellent exposure to complex cross-border transactions.

 

Position responsibilities

 

  • Advise clients on private equity investments, acquisitions, disposals, and broader corporate transactions.
  • Take a lead role in the day-to-day management and execution of private equity and M&A transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of transaction documentation.
  • Coordinate with specialist teams including Finance, Tax, Employment, Benefits, and Regulatory to deliver seamless client service.
  • Support clients through buyouts, leveraged transactions, growth capital investments, buy-and-build programs, distressed situations, and exit strategies.

 

Experience, skills, and qualifications

 

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent qualification in a comparable jurisdiction).
  • Experience gained within a recognized private equity, corporate, or transactional legal practice.
  • Strong experience advising on private equity transactions, buyouts, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Exposure to cross-border transactions and international deal execution.
