Position summary

 

As a Tax Accountant at Winston Taylor, you'll take ownership of the preparation and delivery of partners' UK tax returns, ensuring they receive an accurate, efficient and proactive service.

 

Working closely with the Head of Partnership Tax, you'll navigate complex personal tax matters, manage competing deadlines and provide the insight needed to keep partners ahead of their tax obligations. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, taking responsibility and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced professional environment.

 

Position responsibilities

 

  • Deliver accurate and timely U.K. personal tax returns for partners, ensuring compliance with all filing requirements and deadlines.
  • Drive the tax return process from information gathering through to submission, identifying and resolving issues before they become obstacles.
  • Manage and extract tax data from HMRC Government Gateway, monitoring liabilities, payments and filing obligations.
  • Use commercial tax software, ideally Digita, to produce high-quality returns while maintaining exceptional attention to detail across a portfolio of partners.

 

 

Experience, skills, and qualifications

 

  • Experience preparing U.K. personal tax returns, ideally for self-employed partners or individuals with complex tax affairs.
  • ATT or CTA qualified, or working towards a recognised tax qualification.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax, with the confidence to work through complex issues and tight deadlines.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
